Have we lost touch?

Oh Lord help us to feel again!
If we can watch the news and not shed tears, then have we lost touch?
Draw us near again!
Embrace us with your love and soften hardened hearts.
This world needs you so much!
Let us cry for starving children
Let us strive to help the poor
Let us pray for those who suffer
Let us strive to do so much more!
What is there to lose when it’s you we fear? Have we lost touch?
The fear of man is a snare and the devil is defeated
Yet this world is crumbling beneath the weight of how we treat it
We kill each other Lord! For what? For money?
Because we disagree with someones opinion?
Some think this a joke, but this is not funny
Your heart grieves without a doubt, blood was shed for this humanity
Love has spoken through the ages; love has kept us from insanity!
Oh Lord the world needs you so much, have we lost touch?
Oh Lord help Afghanistan! Rescue many from the reach of the Taliban
Oh Lord help those in Syria
Heal the wounded civilians and those traumatised in Nigeria
Rescue those in North Korea, lead your people to safe lands
Lead people out those prison cells with your invisible hands
Break the chains that bind the broken
Heal the blind and raise the dead!
Let your truth invade the media
Lord multiply the bread!
Let those totalitarian leaders know that you’re the one supreme
Let them recognize the God of heaven
To you may they bow the knee
Lord lead us by your Holy Spirit
Restore our broken souls
Let our prayers be heard in heaven!
Let the name of Jesus Christ be known!
The world needs you so much, have we lost touch?
Help us today, give us your strength
Give us your wisdom when things do not make sense
Show us your glory, shine in this darkness
You write our story, heal the broken hearted!
The world needs you so much… Let the world feel your touch!
Because when the world feels your touch… this will always be enough!
Amen

This poem was inspired in the evening during my prayer time with God. As I was praying for some of the things happening around the world I asked the Lord, have I/we lost touch? Gods Holy Spirit immediately inspired these words! Praise be to God.

Love and God bless

Whether the glass is half full or empty is a matter of perspective. The glass can be half full of air and half full of water at the same time. I see life as a gift that is wrapped up with great potential. Writing is one way this gift can be expressed. Words can bring can awaken life. This is why I love the word of God through the bible. It is the living word that can transform humans, societies and ultimately the world. Welcome to my world of words, I hope and pray God will bring these words to life for you!,

  1. My brother, Deano, I can feel your heart and the presence of the Holy Spirit as I read through this poem. May we all rise and intercede for the nations, May we all surrender to Christ once again so He may touch and use us to bring the word of healing to the nations. May you continue to stand in the gap; we are standing in agreement with you. Many blessings!

  2. Do we consider that the problem is not them but us? There’s nothing new in what is written here. Albeit these are legitimate concerns. But are they concerns of people we’re around every day? Are these concerns that are prayed for by the majority in our churches? Our safety is the thought of many when it comes to Afghanistan; not the betrayal of our allies there. We’ve forgotten the many people groups we’ve betrayed around the world ever since the beginning of the cold war. Were does the Taliban get their money for there weapons? Where do drug cartels get their money that allows them to defy their governments? Look at the US. The root of all this is here. Our foreign ventures fail because Americans are incapable of relating to different cultures and provide lasting remedies to their problems. The blog is great – but it’s not on the minds of enough Americans to make a difference in the corrupting influences that come from America.

    1. They are concerns of our almighty God. Sure corruption is in America without a doubt just as their is corruption in every nation (sadly) we live in a fallen world and everyone falls short of the glory of God. I say these words in this poem because during prayer these were the words flowing out. Sure, so much more can be said and so it should be! So many more prayers should be uttered for our holy God to hear. Should we hate those who are corrupt or should we pray for them? Did Jesus not teach his people to love their enemy? I sense anger in your words and rightly so for the corruption their is, but our battle is not against flesh and blood bit against rulers and principalities in the unseen world. Our weapons need to be put on so we can fight against the real enemy, the devil. We should be praying and staring down strongholds and setting the captives free in the name of Jesus! Whether these words are “nothing new”is not important since “there is nothing new under the sun”. If only many more people would get in touch with the fathers heart and grieve for what he grieves for. Sadly, many are not grieving, that was the point in this poem… that we might feel again what our God feels. If you are so in touch with God then great! Keep praying and sharing His love to a broken world! God bless.
