You are God’s masterpiece. #Christdentity.7

Guinness World Records lists Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa as having the highest ever insurance value for a painting. On permanent display at the Louvre in Paris, the Mona Lisa was assessed at US$100 million on December 14, 1962. Taking inflation into account, the 1962 value would be around US$860 million in 2020. It baffles me how someone can pay so much money for artwork. If this painting was brought at 860 million dollars, that would be enough money to give all 66 million people of the UK around 13 dollars each! Why pay so much? Simple, someone recognized the value of the piece! Someone was able to look at the intricate detail formed by the oil paint and know this piece is so valuable that it must be displayed and seen by the world. Simply put… It was a masterpiece! Some would even say this artwork is priceless.

Many know how to appreciate a masterpiece and distinguish who the artist is, yet fail to recognize the hallmarks of our creator in creation. Humanity also has a price tag, but no worldly currency is enough to pay the price. The only currency valuable enough for purchasing the souls of many was through a divine transaction smeared with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Humanity always had great worth because they were made in Gods image, but only once God sent his one and only son was the magnitude of our value realized.

When you look in the mirror do you think that you are Gods masterpiece? Or do you look more at photos on social media and think Gods only masterpiece are those air brushes models? Human nature always stirs us to compare ourself with someone else, yet God is not interested in comparing, He is interested in you! If God always compared each one of us to Jesus then we would never please God, but praise God that He focuses on His own unique fingerprints for each of His creation. Yes we are called to follow in the footsteps of Christ and imitate His ways, but that does not exterminate your uniqueness, it only enhances it to a glorious level.

We are taught from childhood that we are here by accident; evolving to a state of consciousness and existing because of instinctive survival. How sad of a world view this is, no purpose but just existing because we live in a dog eat dog world. God deemed His creation worthy enough of shedding His own holy blood. He made us only a little lower than the angels and crowned us with glory and honor (Psalm 8:5) What an awesome God! The nations are just a drop in the bucket compared to our glorious God (Isaiah 40:15) Yet He loves us! He cares for us and longs to restore his image in each one of us.

The deepest parts of our being  are engraved with the fingerprints of God, not of  Satan! Yes the devil has corrupted the souls of humanity and tarnished the image of God, but that does not change the fact that we are Gods masterpiece! We are a uniquely created being with a priceless (with earthly currency) tag! The only price that could redeem us was the currency of the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ.

Next time you look in the mirror and hear those negative thoughts of, “you’re ugly, you’re a nobody or you will never be enough”, you tell those lies to be gone in the name of Jesus! You tell that beautiful person looking back at you that “I am Gods masterpiece!” You speak kind words and encourage yourself in the same manner as God would. Speaking with edification to build up your character and restore the image of our Holy God!

You are Gods masterpiece!

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Father God, thank you that you created us with such love and attention! You love together the deepest parts of our being when you made us in that sector place. Always remind me that I am your masterpiece, especially when the enemy whispers lies into my ears and tells me that I’m not. Thank you that we are highly valuable because you made us in your image and you love us with an everlasting love. Today and every day, help your children to always remember this. In Jesus Christ name, amen.
