Every part counts

How many parts does it take to build an airplane? For today’s commercial aircraft, the answer isย millions. Yes, you have read that right. It takes millions of small and big parts to assemble a fully functioning commercial plane. In an article by Lufthansa, they claimed that it took 6 million parts to build Boeing 747-8.2 – source: Knisley Wielding, inc.

Every part of the airplane has a purpose. One lose screw could make a whole part fail and subsequently destroy the whole aircraft in flight! That tiny bolt makes all the difference.

Some people think that because they do not have what some would seem “a big role” as a Christian, then they do not have anything of value to offer so do not have purpose. I knew a wonderful lady back in the UK who has now gone to be with the Lord. She was an old sweet lady and had a beautiful angelic voice and a passion for prayer. Not long after she lost her lifelong husband she attended  one of our house church bible groups. During the session she said that she feels that she does not have anything to offer, “all I do is pray” she said. The whole group encouraged her and said even if all she can offer is prayer than that’s enough! I have heard others say they have no gifts yet offer amazing hospitality (which is a gift!).

Some of Gods children do not realize that they have gifts. It’s not just about the prophets, evangelists, teachers or apostles; the body of Christ has many other areas of functioning. If you can encourage, offer hospitality, pray, help the poor etc. Then you have a gift to offer!

These gifts are just as important as any other. Just like the plane or our amazing human body, each part has a certain function and we need every part for all to go well. So if you think that you have nothing to offer, remember that even that tiny bolt on an airplane stops it from crashing in mid-flight, it really does make a big difference – and so do you!

When you have some spare time read 1 Corinthians 12: 12-27 in this passage the apostle Paul is speaking about Christians being one body but have many parts.

Vs 27: You are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of it.

Remember that you have are valuable and no gift is too great or too small!

Love and God bless

Whether the glass is half full or empty is a matter of perspective. The glass can be half full of air and half full of water at the same time. I see life as a gift that is wrapped up with great potential. Writing is one way this gift can be expressed. Words can bring can awaken life. This is why I love the word of God through the bible. It is the living word that can transform humans, societies and ultimately the world. Welcome to my world of words, I hope and pray God will bring these words to life for you!,

  1. Wow ! This is really encouraging. So interesting so realize the millions of parts in an aircraft.

This photo is also very effective.

I am like the lady you described. Mainly ‘all I do is pray,’ but prayer has value in God’s Kingdom. Our Lord will definitely show us, where our role is in the Body of Christ, and how this role changes as we move through stages of our lives. ๐ŸŒท๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒผ

  2. You chose a great visual with the image for this post. And generated another with the analogy of the parts in the plane. Each part [person] has value because they were designed by God and created with a purpose to glorify the Father in Heaven. God bless you as you continue to magnify the name of Christ.
